Canada Entry Requirements
All visitors to Canada must be able to provide proof of citizenship.
Entry for U.S. Citizens
Citizens of the United States are required to show proof of citizenship upon entry into Canada, and MUST provide one of the following:
• A valid passport
OR
• Photo Picture Identification (usually a driver's licence). Although photo driver's licenses are acceptable forms of identification for entry, it is advisable to carry extra identification such as a birth certificate or naturalization certificate as you may be required to produce additional identification.
Other Foreign Visitors
Citizens from other countries are required to show proof of citizenship upon entry into Canada and must provide the following:
• A valid passport and in some cases, a visa for entry into Canada.
Citizens of the EU, Scandinavia and most Commonwealth countries visiting Canada do not need an entry visa. All that is required is a valid passport.
